Hi! My name is Zigmund or Ziggy, for short. I came to live at the Refuge after my owner became allergic me and the other birds I lived with. Vito (Congo African Grey) and Rusty (Cherry-Headed conure) also came to live at the Refuge.
Since coming to live at the Refuge, I've spent quite a bit of time in foster care. I do very well in a calm atmosphere with a routine. Prior to coming to the Refuge, I had severely plucked many of my feathers, as you can see from my "before" picture. Since being in foster care, I've grown MANY of my feathers back (check out my "after" picture) and even have wing feathers again! I am prone to bouts of picking when I get nervous or am uncomfortable in a situation though.
Even though I'm in a foster home right now, I'm still looking for my forever home. If you think we may hit it off, please contact the Refuge for more information.
