Hi! My name is Tulip and I'm a Sun conure. I'm currently in a foster home. Read on to see what my foster mom has to say about me:
Update from Tulip's foster mom - February, 2011:
"Tulip is an absolute delight. She loves to snuggle and her sunny personality matches her beautiful coloring. She is as sweet-natured as she is beautiful. Tulip prefers men, but she is quite sweet with women also. She is very easy going, generally quiet but will get jealous of other birds so a bit of caution is required.
She loves to be with people and will sit on your shoulder, or on top of your head and preen your hair. She loves food, all food. She loves fruits, vegetables, popcorn, and the occasional lick of an orange dreamcicle, although, she WOULD eat the entire thing, if allowed.
If you go near the sink, beware! Tulip, if inclined, will run down your shoulder, onto your hand and bathe in the water from the faucet. She likes very slow baths though, so if you are in a hurry don’t take her near the sink! First she washes one foot, then the other. Then she slowly washes the rest of herself. Of course, once she is done she will run back up to your shoulder, shake herself all over you and then use your clothing or your hair as her personal towel.
At night, when she gets tired, she loves to snuggle inside your shirt. She will climb in though the neck hole (in a very acrobatic-type move... she sort of summersaults in) and then will peek out when she thinks something interesting may be happening.
Tulip sleeps in a soft sleep tent. She actually lies down while sleeping, on her tummy and is quite content……completely adorable. She is a big bird personality in a small bird body. The perfect combination!""
