Hi! My name is Shumba and I'm a Meyer's parrot. I was recently returned to the Refuge because my family felt I wasn't adjusting very well to the new baby in the house. I'm a sweet bird with beautiful colors. I eat a nutritional diet of Harrison's pellets and I love almonds as treats. I seem to prefer men so far and will step up easily for a man when offered a hand, although I do step up nicely for some women too.

Our Mission is Simple

To work in joint cooperation with all avian rescue groups to try and eliminate the need for rescue groups by educating the public about aviculture issues.  Until that is accomplished, we will provide a sanctuary for those unfortunate parrots that are in need of a home.
